Platform will also be featured at multiple partner/end-user stands

Camarillo, CA, USA, July 23, 2016 – Aperi Corporation, the pioneer in bringing software-based real-time IP media processing to live production and networking, will bring its industry-first native IP live media processing to IBC (stand 2.C27). Attendees can also see Aperi at work at partners Gearhouse, Arista, Barco-Silex stands. System integration partners D&MS and Vidi GmbH will also be featured at Aperi’s stand in Hall 2.

“Capturing and keeping viewers in the online, mobile and OTT era requires infrastructure agility and that means native IP and software-based processing for live production,” said Aperi CEO Joop Janssen. “To succeed in today’s environment, companies must be able to instantly spin up (and down) services, pay as they go, instantaneously accommodate changing formats and standards, and be able to leverage the benefits of datacenter operations/third-party hosting if needed. It’s really that simple.”

Aperi’s platform, which supports the AIMS roadmap as well as all major standards, provides a seamless migration from SDI to a true native IP live production architecture – delivering extremely low latency and software-based virtualization for mission-critical media processing in live sports, entertainment and news production.

The generic A1105 compute and switch platform includes the company’s latest SDMP microserver technology and a broad set of real-time media processing function software applications – available through Aperi’s App Store.

Janssen continued: “Whether you need quickly create a channel or change to the latest media format, Aperi offers instant deployment by starting and stopping software applications analogous to lightweight virtual machines in the server world. There’s no need to adapt or change the underlying common off-the-shelf compute and switch platform.” The company has coined the term “Live IP Media Function Virtualization” (MFV) to describe the technology.

Aperi means ‘open’ in Latin, a nod to the company’s embrace of true open-source practices and open standards. “Since the company’s founding in 2013 and launch at NAB earlier this year, Aperi has continued to expand its media processing functions.

Live show floor demonstrations will include 4K/VC-2 live remote production over fiber between the Aperi and Gearhouse stands, managed by a state-of-the-art orchestration package, AES67 and JPEG 2000, as well as Multiviewer, SMPTE 2022-1,2,5,6,7 and TR-03 encapsulations, and a powerful test and measurement tool called the IP Packet Generator Analyzer will also be showcased.

A testament to the power and reliability of the platform, Aperi recently implemented a successful 4K live remote production for a major quarterfinal football match in France.
