Camarillo, CA, September 11, 2017 – Aperi, the pioneer of software-based live IP media processing today announces that it has appointed Sergey Lvov in the newly-created position of software director. This appointment comes after a number of significant customer deployments and the opening of Aperi’s first office outside of the United States, which cements the company’s leading position within a market that’s moving away from hardware-centric workflows and towards software-based systems. Sergey comes from California-based Ixia – one of the fastest-growing IP network test, measurement and security solutions providers.
“The broadcast and live production industries are in a state of change,” commented Sergey on his appointment. “Aperi’s unique offering for content creators and network operators presents a very interesting opportunity for me to use my IT and network experience to make an important impact on a previously hardware-focused market.”
At Ixia, Sergey’s technological know-how of IP networks helped him manage engineering teams that redesigned app-based testing solutions, developed network platforms and launched a dedicated security business unit delivering dedicated network solutions. Before his time here, Sergey’s previous position was held at Radview Software where he worked as a senior software engineer for the leading provider of web application performance testing software.
“This is an important addition to the expanding Aperi team. Sergey brings with him extensive experience of managing multi-location fast-pace software development teams and a deep understanding of IP networks,” said Joop Janssen, Aperi’s CEO. “This expertise will enable us to continue to grow two important aspects of our business – fast-paced innovation cycles that benefit from open source communities and our active app development community.
“Working alongside our CTO Brian Keane and leading our innovative R&D team, Sergey’s appointment will help us undertake the next significant phase of the company’s development.”
This latest appointment comes after Aperi’s new Melbourne office and several customer installs cements it as a major player in the software-based disruption of the live production market.
At IBC2017 in Amsterdam the company will be presenting its virtualized live production platform to visitors on stand 2.C27.
